France insists that NATO fulfill a technical role in the military operation launched by the international coalition in Libya said today the French Minister of Foreign Affairs Alain Juppe.
"NATO will act as a planning and operational management and will not have the political leadership of the international coalition," said Juppe was quoted by Agence France Presse.
Chancellor Gallo's statements were confirmed by the government spokesman, François Baroin.
On Tuesday, Juppe proposed to the allies to create a management policy of the international coalition in Libya to meet with ministers Foreign countries participating in military action in Libya and the Arab League.
Meanwhile, U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates said the U.S. will pass within a few days to NATO command of the military operation in Libya.
Also Tuesday, the deputy national security adviser in the White House, Ben Rhodes, said the U.S. president, Barack Obama, the French president, Nicolas Sarkozy and Prime Minister United Kingdom, David Cameron, agreed that the command of the military operation in Libya should be transferred to NATO.
The operation of the international coalition in Libya began on 19 March. Allied aircraft bombed Libyan military targets located on the east, and in Tripoli and Sirte. Labia authorities reported dead and wounded following the bombing but the West denies.
